Gill Taylor
Director of Calyx
Gill provides consultancy services with organisations across
the U.K. She works with leadership teams within the public, private
and voluntary sectors to maximise their organisation’s
success.
Gill has rich experience in developing effective multi-agency
working within children’s services. She has worked at strategic
lead and assistant director levels within local authorities,
leading on the areas of access and inclusion, behaviour, attendance
and special educational needs. In these roles, she has successfully
led change processes and implemented systems and structures to
develop effective policy and practice.
Gill has previously worked as a senior adviser with the Department
for Education’s National Strategies for school improvement,
leading national conferences and working with senior managers
across England to develop policy and practice at local authority
and school levels. This work included creating the innovative
curriculum for developing the social and emotional aspects of
learning.
Gill is an applied psychologist, working with individuals, teams
and organisations, and brings these positive psychology principles
to all aspects of her work. She is skilled in facilitating groups
and developing people’s communication skills and collaborative
working.
Gill works with leadership teams within schools and settings in
developing their inclusive policy and practice and effective work
with children and families. She pioneered the Circles of Friends
approach in UK schools, to support the inclusion of challenging
children.
